How lessons work
- Free level check: a 20-minute online conversation about goals and the current level, followed by a suggested plan.
- A personalised plan: lessons focus on the skills and themes where the learner can gain the most.
- Clear feedback: each lesson ends with what went well and what to work on next.
- Progress reports: after each half term, a short report on speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Questions
GCSE Mandarin FAQ
Which exams do you cover?
GCSE and IGCSE Chinese, at both Foundation and Higher tier. Lessons follow your child’s exam specification and school topics, and are independent tuition.
Can you guarantee a grade?
No tutor can honestly guarantee a grade. I plan lessons around the learner’s target, give clear feedback and track progress in all four skills, so you can see how they are developing.
My child speaks Chinese at home. Is this right for them?
Yes. Heritage speakers often need reading, writing and exam technique more than speaking, and lessons are planned around that.
Are lessons online or in person?
Either. Lessons run online by video call, or in person in Sittingbourne at a mutually agreed location.
Is the free level check a full lesson?
No. It is a 20-minute online conversation to understand goals, check the current level and suggest a plan. It is free and needs no payment or card. Children attend with a parent or guardian.
